A chesty cough added to GirlRob’s now raw throat, fortunately had brought over refills for medicine bag, so began Dr Deb's antibiotics. Heard from Guy – Erich unable to fit in the work on his vehicle, we may find not all our repairs completed.
Breakfast not as good as previous two hotels, but good enough to fuel the day. Decided to catch earlier 11.36 am train to Andorf, and were surprised to see Erich at the station picking us up in our wonderful Ozzie. With grateful thanks we agreed to meet at his workshop tomorrow. No sooner had we dumped our luggage inside, the police pulled up to look inside and enquire as to our “movements and intentions”. No dramas, they waved us off and we followed iPad app to our Airbnb (farmhouse) accommodation in Goldberg. Drove through picturesque rural landscapes, rolling hills, and pine forests.

BnB farmhouse at Goldberg
A castle on every hill

First glance inside was disappointing, a lumpy looking bed against wall, knob missing from hot water tap (but supplied pliers!), 3 hand towels but no bath towels, only one easy chair, no couch or TV, eerie sensor light in hallway that came on and off at slightest movement in nearby rooms and with no way to turn off permanently - however we had whole farmhouse to ourselves and there was a good yard to start pulling everything out to sort and put ' jigsaw' back together. Took all food out to check use-by date, and filled four big plastic bags to throw away. BoyRob’s new Drinks Box fitted into the locker space perfectly. He will assemble the Vegie Box in Erich’s workshop tomorrow. Fortunately the only mould was on one strip in bathroom, bottom of laundry basket and both sets of boots in shelf in the door. GirlRob cleaned the shower stall, then vigorously scrubbed the boots and put in sun to dry. BoyRob changed air filter under seat in 'house'. Searching, searching - finally found "lost" Garmin and binoculars in last place looked (naturally!) Landlady's son is the farmer, loved our truck, took photo on his iPhone saying "very cool", "super!", and said he'd show us his goats, and cheese-making operation during our stay. Lovely garden, plenty of singing birds. Our host kindly did our washing, left inside door whilst we were in Andorf for dinner (at our favourite guesthouse) with airer for us to hang on balcony on our return (of course she had a second key...)

Had dinner in delightful beer garden (never been warm enough for us to sit outside in Raab before) Between us ate stew/soup and trout potato cake, or beef with thick white asparagus. Heidi, proprietress was upset we'd been told by Booking.com there were no vacancies when she had plenty - she also said she had not received my email double checking vacancies. Plenty of interest in our truck going between Golding and Andorf, lots of people at outdoor tables celebrating GrillFest, turning their heads as we passed. Loud rattling noise developed on drive back - have to investigate in morning. Saw long-eared hares in tall crops, then a long-eared deer in forest on way home.
