Day 112: Lyon to Clermont Ferrand - Mon 25 Aug

Day 112: Lyon to Clermont Ferrand - Mon 25 Aug
Nice morning, joint male/female showers, somewhat embarrassing when GirlRob jumped showers clothed only in towel and shower cap cos first didn't work. Crossed Loire valley.

Clermont Ferrand is on Massif Central, surrounded by chain of volcanoes, birthplace of Blaise Pascal and home of Michelin tyres – could see Le Puy de Dome, the mountain with spires. Called in briefly to Michelin Museum, then on to Maccas for wifi, BoyRob searching for replacement tyres.

Stayed in free Aires concrete carpark on tramline. Met up with Boomers again for our last 7 weeks of this year. Ann had broken her tooth - ouch, but was able to get dental repair (39€!) watched (and heard!) military planes doing practice take offs and touchdowns whilst we prepared dinner. Hot and sultry evening in valley encircled by extinct volcanoes.

No, not salubrious views, but free....
